Keep Current with a Calendar on Your Site

Google’s calendar is a great tool to provide event information to your users. The tool is free and easy to use. There are several levels of security to fit every need and the information can be embedded directly into you web site with ease. Simply create a new Google calendar, choose your settings, and copy the embed code into your web site.

For ChurchOf TheRiver .org we used Google’s Application Programming Interface (API) to create a summary feed of the next 10 events to show on the home page. With some JavaScript, the feed API, and cascading style sheets, the column was added to the site and maintained entirely through the Google calendar interface.
